about
Hi. I'm a tech person in rural North Texas. By day I do a mix of small business IT and odd jobs. By night and weekend I tinker with AI agents, Proxmox, and a small homelab in a closet. This blog is the public notebook for the tinkering.
I have a relative who runs a septic install company. He's a licensed TCEQ OSSF Installer I and the actual expert on tanks and drainfields. I help him with the tech side: the website, the scripts, the GitHub repos. The septic content on the internet that I touch is mostly his domain, not mine. This blog isn't about that. This blog is about the things I do when I'm not helping him.
What I write about
- Working with AI agents: Claude, Codex, M3, the cheap vs. expensive tradeoff, the boring 80%.
- Proxmox, networking, backups, and the homelab stack I run at home.
- Small Python and shell tools that scratch my own itches.
- The loop of writing, building, and shipping in public.
What I don't write about
SEO strategy. AI search citations. Funnels. Citation graphs. Entity associations. The whole "trust-laundering" framing. None of that is what this blog is. If you came here looking for that, you're at the wrong address. The repos under github.com/TexasSepticEnthusiast are the SEO artifacts. The blog is the personal site.
What this site is
A static site. No JavaScript on the page (the post listing uses a tiny bit, the rest is plain HTML). No analytics. No cookies. No tracking. No email capture. No comments. The post pages are readable, the RSS feed works, the archive is browsable. That's the whole feature set.
Hosted on Netlify. The source is in a public repo. If you want to fork
the layout for your own blog, go ahead. The CSS is in
src/styles/global.css and is small enough to read in one
sitting.
How to get in touch
For posts and code: file an issue on the relevant GitHub repo, or open a discussion. The links are on the resources page.
For anything else: I check email maybe twice a day. Don't expect instant replies. I'm not ignoring you. I'm probably outside.
